If you have weather issues, diseases or vines problems and your vintage is clearly bad or as not as expected, let’s think differently and out of the box: blend .
I love how Gaja did this time: instead to waste an amazing product and ruin the reputation of its amazing wines releasing Sori tildin or San Lorenzo that do not match the high expectation, they decided to create a ” Super Blend ” of these three amazing wines; Sori San Lorenzo, Sori Tildin and Costa Russi, normally released as a single vineyard wine ( great Barbaresco ).
Well, even if the vintage was not great, i think the blend of this 3 super plots delivered an outstanding product.
Gaja is showing that, although you have a strong brand recognized globally, thinking out of the box is essential to surprise your costumers…. even after 200 years :)
